Common Counsel LOI Form

Please thoroughly review eligibility guidelines prior to submitting an LOI. We only consider requests from organizations that meet our eligibility guidelines. Organizations that meet the eligibility criteria for more than one of Common Counsel's open LOI funds need only submit one LOI form. Please briefly answer the following questions. Your LOI should be no more than two pages total.
1. Briefly (in 1-2 paragraphs) describe your organization, its mission, and the geographic area you work in.


2. What are your issue campaigns for the coming year?


3. How many active members (individual people) does your organization currently have? How do you define membership? What is the demographic breakdown of your membership?


4. What methods does your organization use to regularly recruit new members?


5. What percentage of your organization’s budget is raised internally? (We consider internal fundraising to include membership dues and income, unions, congregations, fundraising events, individual donors, direct mail, sale of goods, and other non-foundation and non-government sources.)


6. Please list primary sources of revenue and related funding amounts for this current fiscal year (foundations, corporate, individual donors, government sponsors, etc.).


7. Please list two outside references familiar with your organization’s work, including contact information.
