A renewal grant to protect the vitality of the Sacramento Valley and Foothills ecoregion through the preservation, conservation, and restoration of the land, air, and water.


Cascadia Wildlands Project, Eugene, OR • $10,000

A renewal grant to support organizing efforts that aim to protect pristine forests, endangered wildlife, clear rivers and stable economies in the Pacific Northwest.


Common Counsel Foundation Grassroots Exchange Fund, Oakland, CA • $8,000

A renewal grant for a fund to encourage community activists to seek assistance from one another and to build regional and national networks.


Diné CARE (Citizens Against Ruining our Environment), Winslow, AZ • $8,000

A renewal grant to mount a widespread citizen's campaign to put a stop to the widespread, adverse effects of irresponsible energy development on the Navajo Nation.


Friends of the Clearwater, Moscow, ID • $6,000

A renewal grant to support this grassroots conservation group focusing on protecting the wildlands and rivers of North Central Idaho.


Gifford Pinchot Task Force, Hood River, OR • $8,000

A renewal grant to protect and restore the ecosystems and communities of Southwest Washington with a particular focus on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.


Kingsport Citizens for a Cleaner Environment, Kingsport, TN • $8,000

A renewal grant for this grassroots multi-racial citizens' group organizing to work with local leaders, regulators and manufacturers to develop strategies for a cleaner environment, better jobs, and affordable, secure housing.


Lynn Canal Conservation Inc., Haines, AK • $7,000

A renewal grant to maintain a healthy, sustainable environment in the Northern Lynn Canal area of Alaska, by promoting ecosystem integrity, protecting quality of life, and fostering environmental awareness.


Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, Huntington, WV • $9,000

A renewal grant to empower West Virginia citizens to take on the coal industry through campaigns to reduce air and water pollution and to end the dangerous practice of mountaintop removal mining.


San Luis Valley Ecosystem Council ? Alamosa, CO ? $7,000

A renewal grant to protect and restore the biological diversity and natural resources in the Upper Rio Grande bio-region while balancing ecological values and human needs.


Save Our Cumberland Mountains Resource Project, Lake City, TN • $10,000

To support the efforts of rural communities in Tennessee to work for environmental, economic and social justice in the state, in the Appalachian region and beyond.


Western Slope Environmental Resource Council, Paonia, CO • $10,000

A renewal grant to protect and restore the environment and quality of life in Delta County and Colorado's Western Slope, and to address the environmental and social impacts of coal development.
